The Benefits of Epsom Salt Baths

With the rising popularity of natural and organic products, many people are beginning to experiment with bath salt recipes. There is a wide variety of bath salt available, including Dead Sea salt, Rock salt, and many more. But the most popular is the Dead Sea salt, which is know for its high mineral content and therapeutic properties. These benefits have helped many people to transform their bath salt into a source of healthy and enjoyable bath and body products.

This is how the Dead Sea salt was discovered: over a million years ago, when no humans were around to observe the process, it was undergoing evaporation. As the water evaporated, a vast amount of minerals would begin to fall to the ground, from the bath salts’ surface. The minerals would come in different colors – purple, green, white, black, grey, etc. But they also emitted a sulfur compound that could kill bacteria that might be living in the water.

Evaporating water carrying these minerals would eventually become the Dead Sea salt we know today. Scientists and enthusiasts have documented the amazing process of mineral evaporation. And it has led them to believe that bath salts carry a similar “life force”. The salts’ composition is composed of calcium, magnesium, bromine, sodium, potassium, zinc, and a lot of other minerals. It seems these elements are locked together in a chemical reaction, forming the unique structure we know of as Dead Sea salt. Some of these substances have antibacterial properties and can stimulate the immune system.

One of the most important things you should know about Dead Sea salt is that it contains a substance called sodium chloride. You might confuse this with table salt, which is made from sodium chloride. In fact, many people think that table salt is the same thing as dead sea salt, even though the names are different.

The salts were discovered by accident. It was found to contain high levels of potassium and magnesium salts, and no trace of any of the previously known substances. Because it contains no impurities, it doesn’t change, no matter how hot or cold it is. This makes it ideal for use in bathing products.

There are many other uses for Dead Sea salts, too. For instance, they make excellent, natural cleansers for your skin. You can soak yourself in hot water with these bath salts, and afterward you can massage your body with the essential oils that have been infused in the water. These essential oils help to invigorate your senses and rejuvenate your skin. Essential oils are used in many skin care products today, and the Dead Sea salts are just one of their favorites.

As a source of essential oil for bathing, however, you shouldn’t use the higher levels of magnesium and potassium found in Dead Sea salts. Because of the large amount of sodium chloride found in these bath products, there is a possibility that you could become dehydrated. Sodium levels are highest in seawater, and you should therefore never take these baths if you have kidney problems or are pregnant. For this reason, people with these issues would typically use Epsom salt baths instead.

Another benefit of soaking in a Dead Sea salt bath is that you get to relax in relative peace and quiet. Many people who regularly take Epsom salt baths report being able to calm down and listen to classical music more easily. They also find that they are less likely to be caught in traffic while driving. The calming effect of the Epsom salt bath soak is actually one of the reasons that many people visit the Dead Sea. They are able to rid their minds of constant mental chatter and stress and focus more on relaxing themselves.
